Medical Weight Loss & Wellness

A weight program run by your provider rather than a plan you buy off a shelf, plus IV hydration and vitamin therapy given here in the clinic in Miami.

We care for adults 19 and older

What is included

What this care covers

A plan built on what your history and your blood work actually show.

  • A weight program built around your history, your labs, and what you have already tried
  • Prescription weight-loss medication where it is appropriate, with monitoring while you take it
  • Nutrition counseling that starts from how you actually eat, in English or Spanish
  • Blood work before and during the program, so progress is measured rather than assumed
  • Coordination with the conditions weight affects, including blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes
  • IV hydration and vitamin therapy, given in the clinic by clinical staff
  • Regular follow-up, because the plan changes as your numbers change
  • A plain answer about what a medication can and cannot do for you
In plain language

What medically supervised weight loss actually means

Medically supervised means a licensed provider is responsible for the plan, not a coach and not a subscription. It starts with blood work and a history, because weight that will not move is sometimes a thyroid problem, a medication side effect or a sleep problem rather than a willpower problem.

Prescription weight-loss medication is one tool in that plan and not the whole of it. It suits some people and not others, it requires monitoring while you take it, and it works alongside what you eat rather than instead of it. Anyone offering it without blood work and follow-up is selling something other than medical care.

The practical version: you get an honest assessment of why your weight is where it is, a plan built on that, and someone watching the numbers while you follow it.

How it works

How your program works here

From assessment to a plan that changes as you do.

  1. Your assessment

History, current medications, and the blood work that shows whether something treatable is working against you. Nothing is prescribed before this.

  2. Your plan

Built from what the labs show and what you have already tried. It covers what you eat, how you move, and whether medication belongs in it.

  3. Follow-up and monitoring

Regular visits to check progress and safety. If you are on medication, that includes the labs it requires.

  4. Adjusting as you go

The plan changes as your numbers change. What worked in the first month is often not what the sixth month needs.

Payment for weight and wellness services

Weight programs and IV therapy are usually not covered by health insurance, and prescription weight-loss medication is covered by some plans and not others. Call us and we will tell you what applies before you start. Visits for the medical conditions that go with weight, such as blood pressure, cholesterol or diabetes, are billed to your plan in the normal way.

Before you book

Questions patients ask

  • Is this covered by my insurance?

The program itself and IV therapy usually are not. Prescription weight-loss medication is covered by some plans and not others. Call us at 786-536-2414 and we will check your plan before you start.

  • Do you prescribe weight-loss injections?

Where they are appropriate. That is decided after your history and your blood work, not before, and it comes with follow-up while you are taking it. If they are not right for you, we will tell you why.

  • How much weight should I expect to lose?

It depends on where you start, what your labs show, and which parts of the plan you use. Anyone giving you a number before seeing your blood work is guessing.

  • What is IV therapy used for?

Hydration and vitamin infusions given in the clinic. It is not a treatment for a medical condition and it is not a substitute for one. Ask us what is in it and whether it is a sensible choice for you.

  • Do I have to follow a specific diet?

No. Counseling starts from how you actually eat, including what your family cooks, rather than a plan you are expected to abandon in three weeks.

  • Can I do this while managing diabetes or blood pressure?

Yes, and it is usually the point. Those conditions are managed here too, so your weight plan and your medications are handled by the same provider rather than by two who never speak.
